India is making great strides towards affordable, reliable and cleaner energy. However Covid-19 pandemic accompanied with the existing power sector disruptions of Decarbonization, Digitization and Decentralization have led to drop-in demand by around 25-30%.

Generation companies in India therefore need to combine Digital Enablers and Emerging technologies like Cloud computing, Big data analytics, AI/ML to increase their operational efficiency and financial soundness. They must also adopt a two-pronged strategy; first, cut costs to remain competitive as grid parity looms & second, play to other strengths that carve out a new role. For example the ability to provide a reliable, secure and diverse supply of energy will be of increasing value in distributed energy world.

Digitalization has been disrupting how utilities engage with customers, vendors, employees and each other. Across every aspect of the Generation, digital is challenging the status quo but it also offers alternatives and make things faster and smarter. Generation companies thus  need to embark on a Digital Transformation journey to become a World-class Utility of Future.

The expert panel discussion would address how digitalization of power plants would enable companies to deliver sustainable & reliable power generation whilst being a scalable, flexible and an agile enterprise that can proactively align itself to the ever-changing business requirements.
